Georgia Home Boy

Georgia Home Boy is a chemical that can kill its user. Also known by its street names of Liquid X, Lollipops, and Easy Lay, it is most prevalent at clubs and raves.

GHB, also called Hillbilly Heroin, is easy to manufacture in private homes which has made it popular with teens and young adults who would not otherwise have access to drugs. If combined with other drugs and alcohol GHB can sometimes live up to its other moniker of “grievous bodily harm.” Interestingly, a derivative of GHB known as Xyrem does have therapeutic value as a treatment for narcolepsy.

What is GHB?

Essentially, GHB is a depressant very much like alcohol and Ecstasy (X). People who use it in small doses report feelings of euphoria and heightened sensuality. Ingesting larger amounts can result in:

  • Dizziness
  • Drowsiness
  • Agitation
  • Nausea
  • Vision changes

In some unfortunate instances, it can make the user unconscious thus making them a target for sexual abuse. 69% of users admit to losing consciousness after having used GHB. It can be difficult to detect through smell as it is odorless but it is also known to taste disgusting so if your drink takes on a sudden and awful taste, spit it out. If a suspicious stranger offers you a tasty but sour lemon drink immediately decline. Even small amounts of GHB can make you a possible victim of sexual assault.

GHB Risks

Regrettably, even miniscule levels of GHB when mixed with alcohol can have fatal repercussions. GHB attaches itself to receptors in the central nervous system which then slow the respiratory system. If GHB is combined with another depressant like alcohol it can lead to sedation and cardiac arrest. Various hospitals also report urgent medical problems when other drugs like cocaine, ecstasy, and rohypnol are utilized in conjunction with GHB.

Addiction Potential

GHB is a naturally occurring compound in the human body so it is uncertain if there is a risk of addiction. It is likely that any dependence is psychological as well as chemical, but regular users report things like

  • Insomnia
  • Anxiety
  • Tremors

Recognizing the Signs

Since GHB is a club drug anyone who frequently goes to party establishments will have easy access to it. Amnesia is a common side effect which makes GHB a popular drug of choice for people with malicious intent. Other signs of use include:

  • Sweating
  • Vomiting
  • Dream-like memories
  • Nausea
  • Low respiration

Drug testing for GHB is time sensitive as the sooner a urine test is done the more accurate the results will be. Unfortunately, standard home drug tests will not detect it. Please order our services online or call RaBu immediately if you would like a test GHB administered.

RaBu will email test results within 1-2 business days. If the screen is positive, the specimen will be subject to a confirmation test.  Up to 5 business days will be required for confirmation testing.

RaBu’s Medical Review Officer will contact you to discuss any positive results prior to releasing any information.

Once your test is purchased, you'll receive a registration code that can be used at the nearest clinic to the city, state and/or zip code you choose.  This code comes via email within 1 hour during normal business hours.  If ordered after hours, it will come the next business morning.

If you don't get it within 1 hour during normal business hours, or the next business morning, check your junk mail filter, then send an email to us at info@rabudiagnostic.com, or call us at 855-845-7228.
